From 20 to 24 September 2018, the 17th Western China International Fair (hereinafter abbreviated to WCIF) was held in Chengdu, its theme being “Western China makes new achievements in China’s new era”. The fair received exhibitors and visitors from over 90 countries or regions. 17 countries had their own pavilions. It was the first time that all 31 Chinese provinces (regions, municipalities) had participated in the fair. Usunhome Group was invited to be an exhibitor.
In Pavilion 1, a spot was specially reserved for “Sichuan Cultural and Creative Industries Exhibition”. The exhibition was inspected in the morning on 21st September by senior officials: Gan Lin (Member of the Standing Committee of Sichuan Provincial CPC Committee & Director of the Publicity Department of Sichuan Provincial CPC Committee), Fang Fang (Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of Sichuan Provincial CPC Committee & Director of the International Communication Office of Sichuan Provincial CPC Committee) and Li Zhuo (Associate Director of the Publicity Department of Sichuan Provincial CPC Committee). It was the first time that Sichuan’s cultural enterprises had jointly exhibited at WCIF. Eleven companies (groups) took part in the exhibition. They are Usunhome Group, Sichuan Daily Press Group, Xinhua Publishing Group, Emei Film Group, to name but a few.
Having been briefed on Usunhome’s key cultural and tourism projects, Gan Lin took a close look at the series of cultural and creative products on display. He particularly studied the “Bathing Panda” tea set newly developed by Usunlife Space, and asked about the technical details of some J-Makers DIY works.
Usunhome exhibited five cultural brands: J-Makers DIY Platform, Chengdu East Lake Contemporary Urban Art Community, Jinli Three Kingdoms Cultural Experience Streets, Xichang•Jianchang Ancient Town Historic District Protection and Improvement Project and Usunlife Space. They attracted the attention of many guests and visitors.
The most conspicuous exhibit was an impressive “Iron Man” armor, a smash hit made by J-Makers—members of J-Makers DIY platform. The platform sets out to build a high-end DIY industry chain that covers user interactions, transactions, online & offline education, DIY experience shops and other related services. J-Makers DIY platform would soon release its App. Other J-Makers exhibits included miniature handicrafts, ACG Garage Kits and very eye-catching steampunk models. Usunlife Space’s creative cultural products were also well received.
Usunhome’s presence at WCIF was covered and aired live extensively by Sichuan Daily, West China Metropolis Daily, Chengdu Business Daily, Sichuan Radio & TV Station, Chengdu TV Station and other media outlets.
